MLC Centre Combating Scaffold Collapse

The Scaffshield product has started its rollout at NSW's MLC Centre Retail project in the heart of Sydney's CBD. This fantastic product is a simple yet effective solution to the leading cause of scaffold collapse – the tampering of the scaffold.

We look forward to sharing our findings on the MLC project and rolling this type of solution out on all NSW projects as a new Probuild safety standard.

The Scaffshield system is a patented anti-tamper device that has been specifically designed to control the unauthorised removal of ties

  • The ScaffShield locking nut is an anti-tamper device which is installed over the scaffold coupler nut

  • The Scaffshield device has a free-spinning external sleeve to prevent any readily available tools from removing the coupler nut

  • A custom manufactured key – The Scaffkey is used to remove the coupler nut.

  • The ScaffShield is easily identifiable with its yellow cap which protects it from construction dust and debris
