DIGITAL OPERATIONAL SAFETY ZONES
Greenland Centre, Sydney's Operational Safety Zone System
The Greenland team have decided to streamline to Operational Safety Zone booking procedure by using the online material booking/ delivery system Veyor.
We found that the current procedure was slow and also it was not as transparent as it needed to be for the subcontractors to be able to adapt to last minute onsite issues/changes.
Moving the system online to a platform which is already being used by 100% of the subcontractors onsite was an easy decision and the response so far from the Probuild team and the Subcontractors has been extremely positive.
Benefits
Probuild Foreman has saved an average of 8 hours a week (80% decrease) in Exclusion Zone meetings, phone calls, travelling to OSZ work areas etc.
The digital tag system means workers do not have to continually walk to and from the register location to pick up and return tags - 60 minutes per day, per subcontractor supervisor saved
Making a change on the day to work in exclusion zones is now much faster - 80% decrease
There is improved visibility of the Exclusion Zone process through automatic notifications and real-time updating, enabling a safer work site
Other impacted workers can join the notifications list, so they know when the areas are accessible again, ensuring affected parties can maximise their work output
Pre/Post use checklist completed by the subcontractor to secure the zone before works commence.
