NATIONAL SAFE WORK MONTH

October is National Safe Work Month. This is our opportunity to focus on our commitment on workplace health and safety and reflect on how we can continue to build safe and healthy workplaces for our employees and subcontractors.

Let's take a look at how got involved:

Corporate

  • Conducted our 6 monthly management system review.

  • Launched Probuild Onboarding program, which included various new HSE interactions and activities.

New South Wales

  • Dr Jamieson conducted a health talk at Head Office and Greenland. Dr Jamieson is among Australia's leading sports physicians and injury management experts, having worked with the Australian Rugby Union and the Wallabies. He was also a medical officer for the St George Rugby League Club. On top of his sports focus, he specialises in workplace health and safety, and the medical treatment of industrial injuries as a consultant to a range of major companies including Probuild.

  • Free 15 minute Health Checks, following on from the Health Talk delivered by Dr Jamieson Probuild provided free and confidential Brief Health Checks with a health practitioner on site and at Head Office.

 

Queensland

  • Conducted a focus campaign on all projects for heat awareness.

  • Queens Wharf promoted hydration and sun management.

  • The Queens Wharf team implemented a field proximity system for plant and personnel interface.

  • Plant audit conducted on Queens Wharf project, full documentation and competency review.

  • Conducted additional interactions with subcontractors on high risk activities, involving plant and equipment and civil works.

  • 443 Queen St conducted skin checks with CBUS.

 

Victoria

  • ISPT Directors & Probuild Directors and HSE Team, held a SafeWork Month meeting with followed by a site walk focusing on falling objects and fall prevention controls. Falling objects and fall prevention was chosen as this is the three-monthly focus for the Victorian Business Unit.

  • At 311 Spencer Street Cbus hosted a coffee cart at the site, encouraging all people to talk safety and mental health.

 

Western Australia

  • Conducted 4 x weekly safety campaigns across all projects, the campaigns included:

    • Plant and Equipment

    • Temporary Structures

    • Fall Prevention

    • Personal Protection – Silica Dust Monitoring undertaken

  • Senior Management interactions were conducted by Probuild Directors in line with the above campaigns.
