HEAVY VEHICLES

Over the past 10 years 64% of all worker fatalities have involved vehicles, with a total of 45% of workplace fatalities occurring on a public road, this has consistently been the number one cause of workplace fatalities. In 2016, 76 workers died whilst on the road, which equates to approximately 3 workers every two weeks. This makes the transport industry the most dangerous in Australia. The government recognised that they need to do something about this, as there are various parties that contribute to the hazardous nature of the transport industry.
